Magid Glove & Safety Mfg. Co. has introduced touchscreen-compatible T-Roc work gloves. The gloves’ electro-conductive copper and nylon blended liner allows the transfer of electric current, so users can operate smartphones without having to remove their gloves. The gloves are form-fitted for dexterity and accuracy, have a polyurethane-dipped palm for extra grip, and are machine washable.
Avente Tile’s newest introduction is Arles, a line of slightly irregular, handmade rustic tiles with a reactive glaze in rich colors reminiscent of seasons in Provence. The line, suitable for interior wall applications or exterior applications in non-frost environments, comes in 4×4 field tiles, a molding, and a liner. Colors comprise Aqua (right), ranging from inky black to aqua blue; intense blue-grey Mist (left); Hay, which ranges from yellow to light brown; Cork (middle), a mix of rich, matte chocolate shades; and Wheat, a saturated earth brown in medium to dark shades.
Part of Swanson Tool’s Savage line, the 9-inch Digital Torpedo Level (SVT200) provides an audio alert when it achieves level or plumb, boasting a .01-degree accuracy that the company says is three times more accurate than the most accurate spirit levels on the market. The SVT200 offers three modes—degrees, percent of grade, and pitch—and includes 90- and 0-degree vials for traditional reading. Other features include automatic shutoff after continual non-use; an auto-correcting screen for top and bottom reading; a precision-machined, solid billet aerospace aluminum frame; and four neodymium V-grooved magnets.
Simpson Door Co. has expanded its Nantucket collection of entry doors to include Douglas fir (featuring a tight, vertical grain and warm color) and Sapele mahogany (offering a ribbon grain and reddish-brown tone to complement modern looks). Like previous Nantucket doors, the new species are manufactured with two-piece laminated stile-and-rail construction with a modified mortise-and-tenon joinery technique that ensures an authentic look along with long-lasting durability. Hearty black locust pins provide an eye-catching aesthetic while helping to eliminate stile and rail separation. Nantucket also is available in original black locust and Nootka cypress.
Inspired by geometric shapes, Delta Faucet’s Trinsic collection of bath faucets, showers, and accessories offers a sleek-yet-soft contemporary style suitable for modern and transitional decors. The WaterSense-certified faucets include Diamond Seal Technology, whose Diamond Valve requires no lubrication, eliminates wear on seals, and lasts up to 10 times longer.

The Axor Bouroullec bath fixture collection comprises 40 components that can be configured into endless combinations. For washbasins, this concept allows faucet spouts and handles to be separately arranged anywhere in the washing area—on integrated shelves, in front of or next to the sink, or on the wall. The shelves are a key part of the suite’s design, serving as a pedestal to elevate faucets on the washbasin and as aesthetically pleasing storage space in the shower and bath. Many of the pieces are made with mineral resin, which allows for refined shapes and narrow radius while also being easy to clean.
Part of BR-111’s Engineered Collection, Lorraine Oak comes in an extra-wide size of 5 ¼ inches, in a ½-inch thickness and lengths from 12 to 84 inches. The flooring, graced with warm light brown, gold, and white tones, is precision wire-brushed and finished with a natural oil.

Innovation: EcoBust Demolition Compound Eliminates Jackhammering of Concrete & Rocks
Posted: 05.18.2012 Filed under: Innovation, New Products | Tags: concrete, demolition, new products, tools Leave a comment »
Imagine demolishing an old foundation, a concrete stoop, or even backyard bedrock and boulders without the noise and dust of jackhammering and without explosives. EcoBust, a new product from Canada, makes it possible.
EcoBust is a non-toxic powdered compound that, when mixed with water, expands to four times its original size, thereby exerting extreme pressure on rock or concrete and causing it to break.
It can be used for small and large projects following three steps: drill holes in the rock or concrete, mix the compound, and pour into the holes. Cover the holes with a tarp and, within about 24 hours, the material will fracture and split into manageable chunks for removal and disposal.
Along with eliminating the physical stress and dust of jack-hammer demolition, or the permits and special skills required for explosives, EcoBust is ideal for situations where access is difficult or noise is restricted.
